How long have you been a Muskokan – My great-great-grandfather’s was one of the first cottages on Clear Lake, and our family has been there ever since. My grandfather was the first president of the Clear Lake Property Owners Association, a position held by three other family members before myself. I’ve been coming to Muskoka since my first summer, and I now spend summers at my wife’s family cottage, also on Clear Lake.
When did you join the Board of the Ratepayers – In 2022.
What interested you in serving on the Ratepayers Board – I’ve always had a strong desire to participate in the governance of areas that impact me. Having a voice and helping guide important issues to Muskoka property owners allows me to give back and support an area that I am passionate about.
What do you believe is the most important issue we face here in Muskoka – I believe the most important issue is maintaining the natural beauty and tranquillity of this land. The ancestral caretakers of this land looked after it before we arrived, and it is our responsibility to do the same for future generations.
What is your background – I currently work in the GTA area as an IT manager. In the past, I have served as President of my student housing co-operative (WCRI), and then as President of the North American Student of Cooperation (NASCO). I currently sit as President of the Clear Lake Property Owners Association. I’m about to celebrate twenty years of marriage to the mother of my three amazing daughters.
